Applecare For Homepod Will Cost 39 Covers Airport Products

In case you want to protect your $349 HomePod from accidental damage, you’ll be able to get AppleCare+ coverage for $39.

That’s what we found in a document distributed to Apple Stores, which shows that the cost of AppleCare+ for HomePod in the US will be $39. The coverage includes AirPort products and “adds up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling for HomePod, each subject to a $39 service fee”.

As with all other AppleCare+ packages, it doesn’t cover cosmetic damage that doesn’t affect the functionality of the device. The coverage provides up to two years of telephone support, including setting up and using features such as AirPlay 2, Wi-Fi and the Home app.

Just this morning Apple announced that HomePod will go on sale this Friday for $349 in the US and starts shipping in February 9. It will cost £319 in UK and A$499 in Australia. We’ve also learned that purchased iTunes content along with Podcasts and Beats 1 radio can be used on HomePod without an Apple Music subscription.
