Other details say Apple is spending $300 million alone on its upcoming drama, The Morning Show....

Apple today has stopped signing iOS 12.3, iOS 12.3.1, and iOS 12.3.2 following last week’s release of iOS 12.4. This prevents users from downgrading from iOS 12.4 to a previous version of iOS. Apple generally stops signing older releases of iOS within a few weeks of releasing an update to the public. iOS 12.4 was released to the public last week after an extended beta testing period with developers. When Apple stops signing an iOS version, it means users are no longer able to downgrade to that version via iTunes....

Another Apple supercycle has been predicted, thanks to a growing number of products being bought by those new to the company’s products. A new market intelligence study says that the iPhone 14, Macs, and Apple Watch all saw very large numbers of those buying for the first time … What is a supercycle? Apple has today officially transitioned away from its aging press portal in favor of the modern Apple Newsroom, which combines company press releases, photo coverage and other news into one place. All links to apple.com/pr now redirect to apple.com/newsroom. At the same time, the company has also updated its executive biography pages with a fresh design update to fit in with the company’s recent website design trends and adopts the San Francisco typeface, finally retiring the Lucida Grande font....

Apple has placed a straight-to-series order for a new comedy show called Dickinson, starring Hailee Steinfeld. As reported by Deadline, Apple has ordered a new straight-to-series comedy. The show will be written by Alena Smith, better known for The Affair and The Newsroom. The show will run for 30 minutes. It is currently unknown how many episodes Apple has ordered. David Gordon Green, Ashley Zalta, Michael Sugar, Darlene Hunt, Alex Goldstone are all set to be executive producers for the show, along with Smith....

Reuters noted today that Apple is working with healthcare professionals at hospitals across the country, including Mount Sinai and John Hopkins, in preparation for the rollout of the HealthKit system in iOS 8. The goal is to ensure that medical personnel are ready to read data from the system when it ships later this year. This move is hardly surprising, as Apple intends HealthKit to serve as a collection place for all of a user’s health-related data, which can be valuable—even lifesaving—during a medical emergency....

Apple has announced a new version of iPad Pro. The 2018 iPad Pro has a new full-screen design, flat edge, rounded corners, Face ID, and more. Update: Best Buy looks to be sold out in most areas. Apple Watch prices have been in a relative freefall in recent months with the oft-rumored upgrade expected in the coming weeks. However, we aren’t expecting a sea change upgrade this time around. Three weeks ago, a KGI report noted that the new Apple Watch 2 upgrade would include GPS, better waterproofing and improved performance but retain the same design. Eurasian Economic Commission filings have tipped the hats on many new Apple products ahead of official announcements, and today we have more to share. First reported by Consomac, the regulatory database reports never-before-seen model identifiers for Apple ‘tablets’ and ‘wearables’, likely relating to Apple Watch Series 6 and the upcoming iPad refresh. New photos from the floor of San Diego Comic-Con 2018 offer the first glimpse of the completed costumes of Mera and Black Manta from the upcoming Aquaman movie. Although previous photos from the set have offered fans a glimpse of Black Manta’s helmet, the full costume for Aquaman’s most famous enemy had not yet been revealed and has yet to appear in the so-called DC Extended Universe. By contrast, Mera - a warrior princess with the power to move water with her mind - had a brief cameo fighting alongside Aquaman in the Justice League movie....

Aquaman is now the highest-grossing DC movie of all time, dethroning The Dark Knight Rises. Over the last several years, Warner Bros. has been trying to achieve a shared universe based on DC characters that can rival what Marvel Studios has created. Apple appears to be testing same-day delivery for some of its products in select markets for customers using the Apple Store app on iOS. First noticed by MacRumors, same-day shipping options fulfilled by the on-demand shipping service Postmates now appear for certain items when checking out with the app. Not at all in-stock items qualify for the $19 flat rate same-day shipping option, however. The option doesn’t seem to be available within the Apple Store app for all markets with Apple Stores that Postmates serves, either, suggesting the same-day delivery option is being tested on a small scale for now....

Apple announced today that it is partnering up with popular actress and talk show host Oprah Winfrey. The company says that together it will produce original content that showcases Oprah’s unparalleled abilities. Presumably, Apple is talking about content that will be released in the Apple Music app for now, as the company has yet to officially announce its work in TV or film. Winfrey’s projects will be released as part of a lineup of original content from Apple....

Apple’s annual developer conference kicks off Monday, but we’re already seeing WWDC related announcements from the company which suggests the keynote will be packed from start to finish. Earlier today we saw an update on how much it has paid developers and how the App Store is performing, and now Apple has detailed an update to Swift Playgrounds coming Monday that will let students control robots, drone, and musical instruments....

Apple Watch Fall Detection has been credited with saving a number of lives, thanks to its ability to automatically call emergency services if it detects you falling and you don’t confirm that you’re ok. But the feature could get even more sophisticated in future, with the ability to send comprehensive data to emergency services so they can get a sense of your condition before the ambulance arrives … At present, the Apple Watch uses a range of cues to detect a fall....

Glances appear when you swipe up from the bottom of the Apple Watch. This shows relevant notifications, from both Apple and third-party apps. The watch vibrates when a new notification comes in. Different notifications have different UI’s as well as different buttons. Calendar notifications are presented with a red and white interface, for instance. Apple is using a haptic feedback engine to power subtle buzzes to the phone, to alert you (but not people around you) to new notifications....
