Apple has taken over the front of its homepage to highlight a new section on its website rounding up photos taken around the world by the iPhone 6/6 Plus’s camera. The website highlights several photographs taken across the globe, from places like Halong Bay (Vietnam), Pamplona (Spain), and The Cairngorms (Scotland). Alongside each piece of media, Apple includes a brief blurb describing the photo as well as the name of the application in which the photo or video was taken....

Apple has officially announced its October event and along with sharing the date, the company has continued its tradition of hiding a fun easter egg for iPhone and iPad users. After doing a slick AR experience for the iPhone 13 event in September, Apple’s done another one ahead of its October 18 event. Starting last year, Apple began including little AR easter eggs for each event announcement. Apple last week confirmed that Apple TV+ will launch to the public in over 100 countries on November 1st. Following that announcement, the first Apple TV+ original TV show has premiered this weekend at the Tribeca TV Festival. The videos were filmed by iPhone owners in four different cities across the world: Anchorage, AK; Haleiwa, HI; Salar de Uyuni, Boliva; and two from Hewiia, Papua New Guinea. Apple debuted the award-winning campaign earlier this year with a handful of photos and videos taken on the latest iPhone model and has continued to update it with new entries over the past four months....

The last executive from the Ron Johnson and Steve Jobs era of Apple Retail is leaving the company, according to several sources. Bob Bridger, Apple’s Vice President of Retail Real Estate, told colleagues at a meeting last Thursday that he will soon be retiring from Apple without specifying additional reasons for his departure. As head of Apple’s retail real estate efforts, Bridger has been in charge of locating new Apple Store locations, striking lease deals, and with his construction background, building up new stores…...

Apple recently voiced concerns over the potential sale of its customer data as part of RadioShack’s bankruptcy filing. As an authorized reseller of Apple’s products, RadioShack is sitting on a collection of customer data of Apple product owners. According to Law360, Apple has formally objected to any data on its product sales through RadioShack being made available for sale citing the reseller agreement between the two companies and its interest of protecting personal data....

Just hours before the opening keynote of WWDC 2022, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Apple approval for a new health feature of the Apple Watch. According to the filings made available on Monday, Apple is working on a new Afib history feature for the Apple Watch. As reported or My Healthy Apple, the FDA’s 510(k) approval allows the company to use the Apple Watch to keep track of the user’s atrial fibrillation history as part of the ECG app....

While we didn’t see a new Apple Watch at WWDC, it’s still very possible that it’ll be revealed this fall, alongside all other Apple hardware that we typically see. One of the changes that could be made is the removal of physical buttons, in favor of solid state ones. Fast Company reports that Apple will replace the physical Side button and Digital Crown, in favor of touch-sensitive solid state buttons. The report notes that the Digital Crown still physically scrolls in order to navigate through content, but the button press itself will be simulated through Apple’s Taptic Engine....

Apple will definitely use US chips made in TSMC’s Arizona plant, according to a new report today, which says that around a third of chips made there will be for the iPhone maker. Additionally, the plant’s capabilities will be boosted to 4nm chips, rather than the 5nm plans originally announced. There have long been indications that Apple would be a key customer, and it appears that all doubt will be removed next week, as Tim Cook is said to be attending a TSMC event on Tuesday …...
