Apple TV+ shares the official trailer for its upcoming drama Dickinson, which turns the 19th century poet into a millennial hero of sorts. The tech giant’s streaming service and original content has been in the works for some time now, and though it seemed as though the company was simply getting very good at delivering tantalizing press releases teasing potential series with amazing casts, it’s all set to come to fruition this November when the service makes its official debut with Dickinson and a few other notable series premieres....

Apple has quietly rolled out a change to the Apple TV App Store on tvOS in the last few days, which affects how apps are listed in the Top Charts. For the Top Charts (Top Paid, Top Free, Top Grossing), the Apple TV App Store will now hide listings for apps that the user has already downloaded, so the charts update dynamically per user. This means users can only browse for apps they don’t already own, removing some clutter and allowing less popular apps more opportunity to be seen....

Lots of stories exist about how the Apple Watch helped save lives. In a CBS interview, Dr. Sumbul Desai, Apple’s vice president of health, highlights the data health benefits that the Apple Watch brings. In the story, correspondent David Pogue showed how self-tracking data can be beneficial for smartwatch users. When talking to Dr. Sumbul Desai, she highlighted a few important features available on the Apple Watch Series 7 but that are also available on older watches, such as the Series 4....

We reports a couple weeks back that Apple would be selling bands separately as accessories alongside its Apple Watch. Below are details on the straps and bracelets available, which include most models apart from the gold 18k and range from $49 to $449. All of the prices below are the same for both the 38mm and 42mm models and different colors are available for the sport and leather bands. The accessories aren’t yet available to order from Apple’s website, but they should become available by the time the Apple Watch launches on April 24th....

Aquaman may finally reveal what Zack Snyder’s mysterious “Unite the Seven” tagline attached to the characters first reveal during the production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actually means. While many originally assumed it was a reference to the seven founding members of the Justice League, as the cast for the team-up it became apparent that there were only going to be six members in the first movie. The “Unite the Seven” tagline was used in numerous theories to suggest there was still a surprise character reveal, particularly Green Lantern....

Earlier today, a data dump from WikiLeaks stated that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency has a specialized unit within its Center for Cyber Intelligence that is devoted to obtaining zero-day exploits for iOS devices. The WikiLeaks information, however, also claimed that the CIA had lost control of the majority of its hacking arsenal. Apple this evening has issued a statement on the matter, saying that “many of the issues leaked today were already patched” in the most recent version of iOS....

ifoAppleStore is reporting that employees of a Seattle area Apple Store are planning a 1PM walkout on October 3rd. Alderwood Mall retail employees cite “abusive” management and possible state and federal labor law violations at the store. Their complaints have have gone unheard (until now, most probably) by Apple’s upper management. According to reports from Bloomberg, Apple is close to reaching a deal with Time Warner to offer TV shows on Apple TV, while also apparently recruiting Hulu exec Pete Distad to lead negotiations for content: Distad is currently SVP of Marketing and Distribution at Hulu and in charge of content distribution and customer acquisition/retention on the company’s management team. According to his bio Distad’s current duties at Hulu include “subscriber acquisition and retention, paid, on-channel, and brand marketing, distribution and promotional partnerships, and content marketing....

Apple has released a new lighthearted ad for Apple Card today highlighting the ability to apply and use the credit card in just “minutes.” The commercial is set in a grocery store where a person walks up to the register with a partially eaten candy bar before realizing he has no way to pay for it. The new “Chocolate” ad is just over 30 seconds and shows a scene of funny moves performed by a man at the counter with a chocolate bar in his mouth looking for money....

Apple sales in Turkey have resumed after the company suspended them due to a currency crash in the country. However, local prices have been increased by 25% to reflect the devaluation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Apple suspended sales from the local online store, and there have been conflicting reports that it also turned people away from retail stores … MacReports said that the company did so, while a local reader tells us that this isn’t the case and that the long lines seen at stores are not unusual....

Apple has issued its first public response to growing pressure by the FCC and other groups to activate FM terrestrial radio features inside iPhones for end-users. In a statement, the company said it cares deeply about the safety of its users and directed users towards its emergency calling and Medical ID features. It also revealed that is technically impossible for iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 to serve as an FM radio anyway, as they lack chips and antennas to support the signal....

Apple has updated its Investor Relations webpage today to announce that it will report its Q4 2019 earnings on October 30th. Following the release of its Q4 earnings, AAPL will hold a call with investors and analysts at 2PM PT/5PM ET. In trademark Apple event ceremony, the Apple Store is down ahead of the new product announcements at the 10 AM PT presentation at Apple Park. The store will return when the event concludes with promo pages for all of the new products — it is not guaranteed that anything will be available to buy today. Apple is trying to diversify its supply chain partners apart from only China. The company is focusing its plans on India as well. According to DigiTimes, Apple has reportedly created around 20,000 job opportunities in the country since last year. If it wasn’t for the pandemic, the numbers could be even higher. After updating the iWork suite, Apple is also bringing the Apple Support app to version 4.6. This update makes the app available for Business Essentials customers with Apple Care+ alongside performance enhancements.
