Apple has further bolstered its creative talent for future Apple TV+ content with its latest deal. Misha Green, best known for creating Lovecraft Country and writing for Heroes and Sons of Anarchy has inked a multi-year agreement with Apple. Reported by Variety, the deal with Apple TV+ will see Green “create and develop television projects” for the streaming service. Variety notes Green’s deal will see her team back up with Apple’s worldwide video heads Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht who were previously at Sony Pictures....

According to a new report from Strategy Analytics, the sales of smartwatches in the fourth quarter of 2015 outpaced sales of Swiss watches for the first time. The company claims that during the holiday quarter, a total of 8.1 million smartwatches were shipped, while 7.9 million Swiss watches were shipped. Of those 8.1 million smartwatch shipments, Apple and Samsung led the way. The former accounted for 63 percent of the market, coming out to roughly 5....

Smart home products provider Aqara is announcing today a brand-new Thread-based lineup for its iconic Door and Window Sensor and Motion Sensor products. Apple today shared an updated official aerial shot of its under construction Campus 2 project through the City of Cupertino’s website. The new shot gives a different angle since the last time Apple checked in late last month and shows more of the earthwork and greenery of the surrounding campus. Apple just updated its website following the iPad mini media event with some new videos for the device as well as specs and updated product pages for the new 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and other products. New disclosures filed this week reveal that Apple continues to spend less than other its competitors on Washington, D.C., lobbying. As detailed by MarketWatch, Apple’s spending hit $7.4 million on lobbying in 2019, which is a record for the company, but still considerably less than others. For comparison’s sake, Apple spent $6.7 million on lobbying in 2018 and $7.2 million in 2017. Prior to 2016, Apple had never spent more than $5 million in a calendar year of lobbying....

After seven tumultuous months of intense scrutiny from Melbourne residents, Apple has submitted revised blueprints for it’s planned store in Federation Square, the Herald Sun reports. Apple first presented architectural renders for the new structure last December in an Australian Newsroom post, where illustrations showed a two-floor pavilion replacing Federation Square’s Yarra building. Rumors of a store in the square surfaced as early as 2016. Apple said the space would create the company’s “most significant store in the Southern Hemisphere....

To help with the international refugee crisis happening right now, Apple and the band Imagine Dragons have collaborated on an exclusive charity single, called “I Was Me” ($1.29). All proceeds of the song sales go to the UN Refugee Agency to support relief efforts. In addition, SAP will be donating an additional 10 cents per download for the first 5 million iTunes downloads. The Imagine Dragons track is exclusive to iTunes and available worldwide....

Apple will continue to experiment with its iPhone lineup in India after both reintroducing and re-retiring its iPhone 4 in the country this year. That’s according to a new report by The Times of India, which says Apple is poised to introduce the cheaper iPhone 5c 8GB model in India by early next month. The report notes the iPhone 5c will be priced close to “Rs 35,000-Rs 37,000 with a buyback offer” which is “about Rs 2,000 cheaper than the 16GB version with a buyback offer”....

There’s another big show coming to Apple TV+. The psychological thriller Surface just got its first trailer and more information about this eight-episode series coming later next month for Apple TV+ subscribers. Created by Veronica West, Surface is set in high-end San Francisco and stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw from The Morning Show – she’s also the executive producer of the series – and plays Sophie, a woman who has suffered a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss, believed to be a result of a suicide attempt....

If you downloaded GarageBand, iMovie or iPhoto individually from the Mac App Store, load the store by choosing Mac App Store from the Apple menu and hit the Updates tab because Apple has just released free updates to said apps, TUAW reports. At its event, Apple has finally announced availability information for the Apple Watch. All three models will be available in Apple Stores from the 10th of April.
