Apple’s new ‘TV’ app has begun rolling out to Apple TV owners in the USA. Apple explained last month that the app is intended to bring together shows from multiple TV apps into a single view. Several readers have reported seeing the app appear … “Using apps on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad has become the primary way for so many of us to watch television,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services....

Apple has lost one of its lead marketing creatives. Arnau Bosch Vergés is leaving Apple’s ad agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab to form his own social media platform targeting musicians. As first reported by The Drum, Bosch is most known for his work with Robbin Ingvarsson and Kako Mendez on the HomePod short film “Welcome Home,” directed by Spike Jonze. That film won numerous awards at various industry events, including at Cannes last year....

Apple released updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch today with multiple security updates. The patched flaws involved malicious web content that could lead to arbitrary code execution – and Apple says they may have been actively exploited. Apple released iOS 14.5.1 and iOS 12.5.3, macOS 11.3.1, and watchOS 7.4.1 today with the primary changes being security fixes (App Tracking Transparency bug fix for iOS too). So be sure to install the newest updates to get the latest protection....

In a statement to Macerkopf, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and International Content announces that App Store payments to European developers have just exceeded $25 billion. Schusser became the head of Apple Music last year with the departure of Jimmy Iovine. In his role as head of international content, he is also expected to be working on programming for Apple’s upcoming TV and news/magazine subscription services. As of January, Apple said total developer payouts topped $120 billion....

A month ago, Apple stopped signing the first public release of iOS 15, and by the middle of October, iOS 15.0.1. Now the company has just stopped signing iOS 15.0.2, which means that users who updated their devices to iOS 15.1 can no longer downgrade to iOS 15.0.2. iOS 15.0.2 was released to users on October 11 with fixes for AirTags that might not appear in the Find My Items tab, iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe that may not connect to Find My network, alongside a CarPlay fix that may fail to open audio apps or disconnect during playback....

Apple has officially retired the Apple Field Trip program previously offered in its retail stores. In its place, “a new educational experience” is coming soon. Prior to the onset of COVID-19, K-12 students, youth groups, and teachers could schedule hands-on group sessions at their local Apple Stores through the Apple Field Trip program. Students worked together with Apple Creative Pros to find their creative passions, and educators explored how to take their classrooms further by making the most of Apple tools and resources....

Washington, D.C.’s historic Carnegie Library has a new lease on life. Following painstaking months of restoration and renovation, Apple and the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. will reopen the building’s doors on May 11th at 10:00 A.M. The restored library will house Apple’s second store in D.C. as well as the Kiplinger Research Library and historical society exhibit space. James Wan is planning to direct another movie before Aquaman 2. After making a name with the horror films Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring, Wan made the leap to the world of big-budget features with 2015’s Furious Seven. His accomplishment on the movie - which became a critical and comical hit - was all the more impressive, considering that star Paul Walker tragically died part-way through production. Wan would go on to helm DC’s Aquaman a few years later, and the final result was another well-received crowd pleaser that grossed well over $1 billion at the box office....

The Blu-ray and 4k UHD release date for Warner Bros.’ Aquaman has been revealed, and following a successful theatrical run, fans can finally get their hands on the underwater hero’s debut standalone film. After fighting crime since his creation in 1941, only now is Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) finally getting the recognition he deserves. While Aquaman used to be at the butt end of jokes, nobody was laughing when Aquaman was released back in December....

Apple Stores will begin stocking Apple Watch bands later this week in “limited” quantities, according to a message sent to retail stores, with the majority of bands being the fluoroelastomer Sport Bands. According to the notice, this strap inventory will primarily be for customers who would like to swap the band that comes pre-bundled with their Apple Watch after their purchase. Secondary to this, these early band shipments for stores will be available as replacements for worn-out bands from the various store Apple Watch try-on stations…...

Apple has fallen 24 places in a huge annual survey of corporate reputations. The Harris Poll Reputation Quotient shows that the company fell from 5th to 29th place … Reuters reports that Google also fell sharply from #8 to #28, while Tesla saw the biggest gain, from 9th to 3rd place. After a week of questioning and witnesses, lawyers in the Samsung vs Apple trial presented their closing arguments on Friday. On Monday, the jury will deliberate and ultimately decide how much, if anything, Samsung owes Apple for infringing on three design patents and two utility patents… Friday’s day in the courtroom kicked off with some last-minute questioning of Samsung’s final witness, Michael Wagner – a management consultant.
