Politicians Jeb Bush and Newt Gingrich were also recently pictured wearing Apple Watch. Now, however, Apple Watch has made its music video debut thanks to Wiz Khalifa. The popular rapper released a new track called “The Game” recently and in the video for it, seen below, Khalifa is clearly wearing an Apple Watch with a white sport band...

It seems like the Coronavirus is dominating the news as of late. Along with major conferences being canceled, there is news about companies asking workers to go remote to prevent the virus from spreading. For large companies like Apple and Google, they likely have a lot of the tools in place for their employees to go remote since they have offices around the world. For smaller organizations, employees may lack the expertise to know which tools will help their employees stay productive and stay in communication with each other....

Apple CEO Tim Cook’s much hyped NBC interview is set to air tonight at 10 p.m. EST, but we are already learning much of what will be discussed during the conversation that took place in, among other places, Apple’s Grand Central retail store location in New York. Earlier today, a profile from Bloomberg revealed Cook’s plans to bring at least some production of the Mac back to the United States in 2013, but he also hinted that the company has big plans for a next-generation Apple TV product....

A lot has been made about what sort of wireless charging system the iPhone 8 will feature, but according to JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur, Apple has been working with Broadcom on a new customized solution. As noted by CNBC, Sur says that Apple has been working on the solution with Broadcom for some two years. One thing Sur notes is that the iPhone 8 will adopt a glass back, as has been rumored numerous times before....

Apple has announced this evening that its fiscal fourth quarter earnings call will take place on Tuesday, October 27th at 2PM PT/5PM ET, with the earnings release dropping roughly thirty minutes before that. The call will report earnings for the three month period ending this month. Last quarter, Apple announced profit of $10.7 billion off of revenue of $49 billion. Last quarter was the first period that included Apple Watch sales, while Apple did not specify what portion of its earnings came from the device....

Chip production for the first Apple Silicon Macs is reported to be on schedule for launch before the end of the year. A new supply-chain report today says that mass-production is set to kick off in the final quarter of the year … Digitimes carries the report. The number of chips per wafer varies considerably, depending on a range of factors which obviously include the size of the chip and the diameter of the wafers, but can also be significantly impacted by the defect rate....

arsTechnica drew our attention to some unusually forthright comments from Apple’s lawyers on the subject of patent trolls, in a public FTC filing. Apple revealed that it had been the subject of 92 lawsuits by patent assertion entities over the course of the past three years, more than any other company. Apple’s legal team used particularly direct language when referring to Lodsys, a company which claims to hold a patent on in-app purchases and which litigates against small developers who cannot afford the legal costs of fighting the case … It would be interesting to see what would happen if Apple offered to fund the legal costs of the next developer to be targeted …

MagSafe on iPhone 12 makes possible magnetic wireless charging and new categories of innovative accessories. To showcase the technology, Apple has created interactive displays for Apple Stores around the world. The new MagSafe Avenue displays a collection of iPhone 12 Silicone and Clear cases with MagSafe, each attached to a demo iPhone mounted on the display. A screen in the center of the Avenue highlights how cases and accessories can easily be combined and swapped....

But wait, it gets funnier! The way Apple has to admit that Samsung’s Galaxy tablets are not in infringement of Apple’s copyright is just incredible. Apple will have to mea culpa itself via its website, as well as newspapers and magazines. According to this Bloomberg report, Judge Colin Birss ordered that Apple post a notice on its UK home page, as well as to buy space in magazines and newspapers — the Financial Times, Daily Mail, Guardian Mobile magazine and T3....

If a new report from Apple’s supply chain is anything to go by, Apple plans on shipping some five million iPad 2 units during the month of July. Apple rolled out Apple TV update 5.2 in January, bringing Bluetooth keyboard support, Up Next, and an enhanced iTunes in the Cloud service alongside iOS 6.1 for iOS devices. We learned last year that the new iPad is codenamed “J2” in the iOS 5.1Beta software, and we learned last week that it will probably be announced at the beginning of next month. However, we also learned about another Apple Jxx product: The next Apple TV. It is codenamed “J33” and “AppleTV 3,1” in the 5.1B software. Apple watch becomes a lifesaver once again. From time to time we get to read news on how the Apple Watch has notified it’s users of health issues and literally saved their lives. Though there are plenty of examples, the recent one is of 24-year old Mike Love who received notification from the watch on his heart’s unfit condition that saved him from dying at such a young age. Now if you’re wondering how, well a normal heart beats 60 times a minute, but in May Mike Love began receiving notifications from his Watch by Apple informing him his heart rate was 130-140 beats a minute....

Apple has announced that Apple Watch Series 7 orders will open this Friday, October 8. The first orders will deliver from a week later, on October 15. Apple announced the new model during the iPhone 13 keynote, but didn’t say at the time when it would go on sale … The company has now given the details. Apple says that the Watch will initially go on sale in more than 60 countries and regions....

Apple Watch shipments grew a healthy 19% last year, according to a new report today, increasing from 28.4M units in 2019 to 33.9M units in 2020. No other brands came anywhere close, and indeed most of them saw their shipments fall during the course of the year… Counterpoint Research says that Huawei was the only other brand to see shipments grow. Apple’s market share grew from 34% in Q4 2019 to 40% in Q4 2020....

While the report says that ‘Apple’s next-generation iPhone devices are likely to come with enhanced Siri,’ it’s of course more likely that this refers to an iOS update rather than anything specific to the new phone.
