Apple Says Third Party Apps Will Be Able To Take Full Advantage Of Iphone 13 Promotion Display Software Fix Forthcoming

Following initial testing of iOS 15 that found many third-party apps could not exceed the standard 60Hz refresh rate of the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion screen, Apple has now clarified the situation. Apple says that developers will need to add a new Info.plist key to opt-in, and documentation is coming soon. In addition, a forthcoming software update will resolve a bug where animations driven by Core Animation were not able to reach the maximum 120Hz refresh rates....

Apps And Services You Need To Stop Using In 2017

Many a longtime Windows user has invoked this philosophy to justify their refusal to upgrade. But in today’s IT environment, the concept of what “broke” means has evolved. The fact that some application you’ve been using for years still opens still looks the same, and still mostly works isn’t enough. For each day that passes, your legacy program or service increases its liability in terms of security and compatibility with the modern world....

April 23 Asus Vs Xiaomi Phone Y War Beckons

Both devices are likely to be slugging it out in the “value for money” smartphone stakes even though our sources seem to indicate that the Mi 4i (if it is called that) will be priced below the ZenFone 2. In many ways, it is the resumption of a battle that actually got underway last year in July. It was in July 2014 that Asus launched the ZenFone 5, a few days before Xiaomi officially set foot in India with the Mi 3....

Archer Season 8 Premiere Review

In addition to making a lateral move from FX to sister network FXX, Archer reinvents itself in season 8 by evoking the films of Howard Hawks, Humphrey Bogart, Samuel Fuller, and so on. Going noir is a natural fit for the sardonic animated spy series, which proved it could alter the theme of an individual season without losing everything that made the show work in the first place. That was back in season 5 when the series launched Archer Vice, a spin on the usual spy format that saw Sterling Archer and the other characters disband ISIS (for obvious and not so obvious reasons) and instead turn to crime....

Apple Says First Retail Store In India Will Take Us Some Time

Apple is working to bring its online and brick-and-mortar retail experience to India, but creating a plan that lives up to Apple’s standards for location and design is an intensive process that can’t happen overnight. In a statement released Thursday, Apple said that plans for India’s first official Apple Store “will take us some time.” In a report on August 28, Bloomberg noted that Apple was preparing to begin online sales of iPhones in India within months, thanks to the easing of a rule that previously required companies to source 30% of production locally....

Apple Wireless Charger Makes Sense Even If It Isn T Airpower

It was reported earlier this week that we might see an Apple wireless charger after all, despite the AirPower debacle. Some have suggested this isn’t a great idea, simply reminding everyone of Apple’s failure to deliver what it originally promised: a single charging mat that allowed you to charge iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch by laying them anywhere on the device. Compared to that, an ordinary wireless charger would be a massive climbdown – and what’s the point anyway when everyone makes them… ?...
